Boston Strong

Posted by Vanessa_28 on April 17, 2013 at 7:25 PM Comments comments (0)

Last Monday was a tragic day because the Boston Marathon ended in a massacre with two explosions which took the life of three people and several heavily injured people. The Game between the Boston Bruins and the Ottawa Senators was postponed because of this.
The Bruins decided to get together and support the victims of this tragedy happening in their beloved city. It's a great thing to see how every team in the NHL supports Boston. All paid a tribute to the victims with moments of silence and special signs on their gear. If you like to donate you can go to the Site shown in the pic below.

Meeting Claude Giroux in Germany

Thanks to the lockout some players head to other leagues to play over there. Claude Giroux and Danny Briere did the same. They went to Germany to play with Die Eisbären Berlin.  Me and two friends of mine decided to go to Germany to watch them play. We left on Nov the Fourth 2012 early in the afternoon to Düsseldorf, Germany. When we went to our seats we were lucky to see Claude Giroux doing his warmup. He was focused on the game and listened to his ipod. We were waiting till the game started. The game was good. Unfortunately Die Eisbären lost against DEG but we saw a huge lot of our fav Flyers players. I highly recommend the German League. It's not NHL level but it's definitely worth to watch. And the crowd is helping a lot too. After the game we hurried outside and waited in front of the backdoor. Claude came outside and my friends immidiatly ran up to him and wanted to have their pic taken with him. It was a great feeling to have Claude in front of my camera smiling at me when I took their pic. Then after a short while I was able to grab Claude and got my pic taken with him. This was the moment I was waiting for. Claude is one of my most fav players ever in the League and to meet him and got our pic taken was like a dream coming true. You can tell I was extremely happy. We were waiting for Danny Briere to get outside but it took a while. In the meantime I borrowed a marker from a very nice DEG supporter and walked up to Claude and handed him my cap. He signed it. So I scored the double!! Danny was late and didn't have time to have his pic taken with the fans. He took a little time to sign his autograph but was in a hurry. It didn't matter to me because I got what I wanted anyway!

Because of the way my Site is growing with all new Wallpapers etc I have decided to make a new Gallery for players when I have 3 - 5 Wallpapers of them and instead of 10 I will add 12 Wallpaper thumbnails on each page. This will make it a bit easier to navigate through the collection.
